The Highlight Reel presents Sports Movie Madness!
Every March, the sports world revolves around college basketball and March Madness. For three weeks, the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament becomes the end all, be all of sports. People watch intensely as the field of 68 is dwindled down to the Sweet 16 and then the Final Four. It is one of the most exciting times in the entire year. Sports fans love a good tournament. Sports fans also love a good movie.
Recently on The Crossover with Michelle Beadle and Dave Briggs, they held a tournament in which viewers selected the greatest sports movie of all-time. Miracle was ultimately the tournament victor. While it is a great film, I found myself disappointed in the bracket itself as many great sports films were missing from their 32-film bracket. So, with March Madness here, I felt it a perfect time for another sports tournament to occur.
It is time for The Highlight Reel to present Sports Movie Madness!
Over the next three weeks, fans and Highlight Reel readers will be able to vote in a tournament to determine the greatest sports movie of all-time. Will it be a comedy or a drama? With it occur on the gridiron, the baseball diamond, or the hardwood? Will it be an inspiring true story or an amazing work of fiction? That is for you all to decide.
You can find the tournament bracket here.
Voting for the opening round begins on Thursday, March 21st at 12:00PM EST. Voting for each subsequent round will begin at 12:00PM EST three days later. Voting on the Final Four will begin on Tuesday, April 2nd at 12:00PM EST with the winner announced at 5:00PM EST on Monday, April 8th -- hours before the NCAA Championship Game.
Please vote and participate. I think this will be a fun endeavor and I hope you all do as well.
